MTV — Turkish motor vehicle tax

MTV (Motorlu Taşıtlar Vergisi) is the annual tax on motor vehicles and trailers in Turkey, paid by their owners. The amount depends on the vehicle's age, engine displacement (cc), registered gross weight, and class. Paid in two instalments (January and July).

For a motokaravan the MTV is set by engine size and age; rates are recalculated annually — use the official GİB calculator (gib.gov.tr) for current figures. MTV on a çekme karavan (O1/O2) is calculated from trailer weight and is typically lower. Without an up-to-date MTV the vehicle cannot be sold, pass muayene, or change ownership; gecikme zammı (late-payment interest) accrues automatically.
