A witness near the Ohio-Indiana border spotted a motorhome with California license plates decorated with Argentine football fan flags on July 22, 2026. The driver suggested they might be heading to the same destination.
A fully restored 1962 Volkswagen Type 2 will be auctioned by Mecum Nashville on September 25, 2026, along with a matching caravan. The vehicle, converted to Samba style, features a 130 hp engine and upgraded chassis. The caravan, built by Kyle’s Customs, includes two bunks, a dinette, kitchenette, and modern amenities.
An RV exploded and caught fire Wednesday morning on US-62 east of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The blaze spread to an unoccupied adjacent RV. Two victims were taken to hospital by private vehicle before emergency crews arrived. ATF, Tahlequah Fire and Cherokee County Sheriff are investigating.
A 14-hour police standoff in Lumberton, New Jersey, ended with the arrest of Blake Reed, a Florida sex offender living in an RV. Reed brandished a flamethrower after a verbal dispute with another driver in the Walmart parking lot on Route 38. Police found Reed hiding in the RV's engine compartment; he also dropped a knife through the rear floodboard. Reed was taken into custody around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Owners of a 2007 Adirondack 31BH travel trailer spent $7,500 on repairs for water damage, but the trailer remains broken. The camper spent all of 2025 at a shop, where technicians replaced wiring, suspension, and rebuilt the bathroom wall, but the floor, awning, and water pump still need attention. The family has invested about $15,000 in structural repairs alone, exceeding the purchase price.
A 1978 Volkswagen Type 2 Westfalia Campmobile is being auctioned. It features a 1970cc air-cooled flat-four engine, a four-speed manual transmission, and 84,000 miles on the odometer. The body is repainted in Dakota Beige, and the interior has plaid upholstery. Equipment includes a pop-up roof tent, a Dometic Catalina 2500 side awning, and an external power hookup. The seller notes damage to the tent fabric. The refrigerator is non-functional. The engine was replaced in 2014, and the braking system was overhauled in 2015.
