All NewsAfter the introduction of a daily fee of 15 euros, between March and the end of July, on average, a motorhome stood on the parking lot next to the sports hall in Gaildorf only every second night. At the same time, in Gschwend, six motorhomes and campers were parked on the two lots at Badsee and at the multipurpose hall.
Camping Gutshof Donauried in Günzburg has offered overnight stays in four wooden barrels since 2015. Each barrel is 4.8 meters long and 2.4 meters in diameter, featuring a double bed, two benches convertible into single beds for children, a table, a refrigerator, and infrared heating. The barrels require no building permit and no water or sewage connection, which is advantageous in a water and nature protection area. They are in high demand and booked well in advance, but expansion is limited by a lack of staff.
On August 31, the TV program 'The Camping Check' will feature highlights from the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. Hosts Friso and Lukas will explore the latest motorhomes, unusual caravans, and camping accessories among over 700 exhibitors. They will also spend the night on the fairground's parking lot, which becomes Europe's largest campsite with around 3,500 spots.
KNAUS Campingpark Leipzig placed 92nd in the PiNCAMP Most Wanted 2026 ranking, based on page views by German users from January to July. The site, located within the city limits about 6–7 km from the center, offers 58 rental accommodations, year-round operation, and rates starting at €54 per night for a family.

The site is about 91.5 kilometers from Nuremberg, a drive of roughly 51 minutes. It offers 70 tourist pitches and 43 rental accommodations, including camping pods and chalets. Nearby amenities include a municipal outdoor pool, an Italian restaurant, the Naab river, and Nabburg's medieval old town. Prices for the 2026 high season start at 37.50 euros per night for a family and 31.50 euros for a couple; low-season rates begin at 33.50 and 27.50 euros. Wi-Fi, showers, and waste disposal are included; electricity is charged extra.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will present at the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf (August 28 – September 6) an updated range of campers, including the electric ID. California Cruise concept based on the ID. Buzz. Also on display will be the California Beach concept with inflatable modules (kitchen under 10 kg, bed 12 kg), allowing a work van to be converted into a camper. First production electric campers from Volkswagen are expected by 2028.
