External sunshades for the windshield reduce interior temperature by up to 8 degrees Celsius compared to an unprotected vehicle, according to a 2021 ADAC test. Internal shades are less effective, cooling by only 4 degrees. A full vehicle cover can lower the temperature by up to 10 degrees.

European manufacturer Forster has updated the A 699 DVB model, which can accommodate up to eight people with a length of under seven metres. The starting price is €58,900. The model features a redesigned overcab section, a revised interior and increased headroom of 2.04 metres. Standard equipment includes a 165 hp turbodiesel, automatic transmission, rear-view camera and Isofix mounts.
In Lippstadt, Germany, police stopped a 70-year-old driver who was driving a motorhome without a windshield or side windows, citing the heat. The vehicle was deemed unsafe, and the driver faces a fine.
Police in the Soest district stopped a 1970s–80s Bawemo camper near Lippstadt that had all its windows removed. The driver said he dismantled them to combat heat in the cabin and was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle was deemed technically unsafe. Further driving was banned and a substantial fine issued. The stop was part of a larger traffic operation aimed at reducing serious accidents.
