On Monday morning, a motorhome parked in a carport in Hollenstedt (Rotenburg district) burned out completely. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby trees and bushes, but the vehicle could not be saved. Damage is estimated at more than 50,000 euros. Additionally, on Saturday, several accidents occurred on the A1 in the Rotenburg district, including one involving a car and a semi-trailer near Stuckenborstel, with total damage of around 150,000 euros. On Sunday evening, a 63-year-old man was seriously injured in Winsen (Harburg district) after being hit by a tractor with a trailer.
According to a ruling by the Federal Fiscal Court, the sale of private motorhomes is not subject to income tax, even if the vehicle was used for business purposes. The court decided that a motorhome is not a 'business asset' if it was used predominantly for personal purposes. This ruling provides legal certainty for owners selling their motorhomes.
ADAC Hessen-Thüringen has released the PiNCAMP Most Wanted 2026 ranking, based on page views by German users. The top three in Hesse are KNAUS Campingpark Eschwege (1st), Camping- und Ferienpark Teichmann (2nd), and Kassel Camping & Wohnmobilplatz (3rd). New entries include Camping Fuldaschleife (9th) and Seecamping Mainflingen (10th). Only campsites with at least four reviews and an average rating of at least 7 out of 10 were considered.
After a camper was stolen in Thuringia, police stopped a 32-year-old Polish man on the A4 near Meerane, who was driving the stolen Citroen Jumper. The suspect was detained.
