Motorhome and caravan owners must have their LPG system inspected every two years. Missing the deadline can result in fines of 15 to 80 euros and increases the risk of gas leaks or fires. The inspection takes 20–45 minutes and costs 40–80 euros. Since mid-June, proof of inspection is required during checks.
On May 30, 2026, a motorhome overturned on the A2 highway near Burg, Germany, while heading toward Berlin. A 64-year-old Dutch driver lost control, hit the central barrier, then the vehicle rolled over and came to rest on the right guardrail. The driver and his 63-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospitals. Traffic was disrupted during the investigation and recovery.
The motorhome parking area on Klosterstraße in Fürstenfeldbruck, opposite the Amperoase, has reopened after renovations. The facility was transferred from the city to private operator Camping-Car Park. New features include a barrier, water supply and waste disposal points, and CCTV. The site accommodates up to 22 motorhomes, with a fee of 16 euros for 24 hours, including electricity, water, and Wi-Fi.
German manufacturer Dethleffs unveiled the c.fold concept caravan at the CMT trade fair in Stuttgart. Its telescopic body lowers to 1.65 m while driving, reducing aerodynamic drag. According to the company, this can preserve up to 100 km of range for an electric car compared to a conventional caravan. The prototype weighs 775 kg, lacks a shower, and features a half-height toilet module with fabric walls. Production timeline and pricing have not been announced.

The Camping.info app has introduced a live availability system for campsites across Europe. The database includes over 23,000 campsites and 18,000 parking spots, with nearly 2,200 in Germany. Users can filter by criteria such as dog-friendliness or distance to the sea, and book directly through the app. The system is being rolled out gradually to more campsites.
