Karmann Dexter 555: four berths in a camper van under six metres

Karmann has introduced the Dexter 555, based on the Fiat Ducato. The vehicle is 5.99 metres long, 2.05 metres wide, and with the insulated high roof stands almost 2.90 metres tall; interior headroom reaches 2.04 metres. It offers four berths: two single beds at the rear and a double bed that lowers electrically from the roof. The engine is a 103 kW (140 hp) diesel. Fresh water capacity is 100 litres, the fridge 113 litres. Haune-Rock 2026 festival kicks off with warm-up in camper lounge

In Odensachsen (Haunetal, Hersfeld-Rotenburg district), the Haune-Rock festival began on July 16, 2026. Many visitors arrived early, setting up their motorhomes, caravans, and tents. On Wednesday evening, they gathered in the camper lounge for a warm-up. Organizer Sascha Ruppert noted that the number of participants grows each year up to the village's capacity. Mayor Timo Lübeck reported that the queue of vehicles stretched almost to the federal highway before the official opening.

Barn fire in Rhauderfehn destroys classic car, motorhome and harvesters

A barn on a farm in Rhauderfehn burned down completely overnight on Tuesday. Firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to other buildings; no one was injured. A classic car, a motorhome, a passenger car and several harvesters stored inside or in front of the barn were destroyed or severely damaged. Police estimate the damage in the lower six-figure range. The cause of the fire is unknown; the site has been sealed for investigation.
