The Bavarian town of Iphofen is introducing charges for the motorhome parking area at the Einersheimer Tor gate. Previously, overnight stays were free. The fee will be 10 euros per night, including electricity and water. The city council approved the measure to cover maintenance costs.
Coalition Vans has released images of its new Stealth Camper. The vehicle looks like a standard delivery van from the outside but is fully converted for living. According to the manufacturer, this disguise offers advantages in urban areas and serves as a deterrent against break-ins.
On July 15, a severe storm with hail hit the Lake Constance region. In Kressbronn, a 30-meter tree fell onto four campers at a campsite; a family escaped unharmed. Damage estimated at 150,000 euros.
An abandoned caravan was discovered in the Schneidmühlengrund area of Floh-Seligenthal, Thuringia. The municipality had set up a motorhome parking spot there, popular with tourists in summer, but unknown persons left the old caravan in the woods, creating an illegal dump.
An 80-year-old man sold his six-year-old caravan to a dealer for €1,500 after the dealer measured 43% moisture at one spot and claimed the caravan was only scrap. The dealer paid immediately, papers were transferred, but the caravan remains with the seller. Two lawyers declined the case. The owner suspects fraud.
