Severe weather hit the west coast of Denmark on Monday afternoon. At Vejers Strand Camping, large hailstones pierced several awnings, including that of couple Helle and Brian Schmidt Dorf. Returning at 6 p.m., they found the interior soaked and damaged. Their insurance is handling the claim.
Sandskaer Strandcamping near Genner Bugt north of Aabenraa has been named ADAC Tipp 2026. The award is given by ADAC, Europe's largest motoring and camping organisation with over 22 million members, to campsites offering an exceptional holiday experience.
Denmark, with its 5,000 km of sandy beaches and over 7,000 km of coastline, offers numerous campsites right by the water. Henning Kristiansen, owner of Silkeborg Sø Camping, warned of a planned power outage on July 21 from 11:30 to 15:30.
