Czech company OBYTNAQ presents camping equipment for Škoda Peaq

Czech company OBYTNAQ, which specializes in folding mattresses and thermal blinds for passenger cars, partnered in the presentation of the Škoda Peaq electric vehicle, premiered on June 23, 2026 in France. Seven reasons why a motorhome may beat a hotel this year

Czech traveller Jan Rychtařík from the NARUBY.life project listed seven arguments for travelling by motorhome instead of staying in a hotel. Among them are freedom from schedules, the ability to cook with local ingredients, and cost savings: a week-long rental of a motorhome for a family of four in Spain costs about 30,000 CZK, while a comparable hotel stay ranges from 35,000 to 50,000 CZK including meals.

Skoda adds Camp Mode to electric cars for overnight stays

Skoda Auto has released the MySkoda 8.14 update with Camp Mode, which maintains the cabin temperature overnight via the app. The feature requires no extra accessories or service visit; the traction battery must be at least 30% charged and Skoda Connect services active. It is compatible with the entire electric lineup: Epiq, Elroq, Enyaq, and Peaq, regardless of model year or software version.

Volkswagen California T7 Beach Tour: review of the new version

Volkswagen has introduced the new California T7 Beach Tour, based on the MQB platform from the Multivan T7. The vehicle features two sliding doors, a pop-up roof with a tent, and five individual seats. Instead of a fixed kitchen, it offers portable camping equipment, allowing daily use as a family MPV. Capacity of rest area on D1 near Kozlov to triple

The Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) plans to expand the Jamenský potok rest area at km 121 of the D1 near Kozlov. Currently there are 181 spaces on both sides; after expanding the left side toward Prague, capacity will rise to 705. The project has passed an environmental impact assessment (EIA). The left side will get three rows for trucks and three rows for cars, including electric vehicles, plus spaces for caravans and buses. Construction is expected to start no earlier than 2027, with completion no earlier than 2029.

Skoda adds camping mode to MySkoda app for electric vehicles

Skoda has introduced a camping mode for all its electric models (Enyaq, Elroq, Epiq, Peaq) via the MySkoda app update 8.14. The function maintains cabin temperature while parked, requires active Skoda Connect services and a battery charge of at least 30% (20% for Peaq according to some sources).

Tradition predating Hanzelka and Zikmund: Czech vehicles for the wilderness

Czech company VejnyWood built an expedition Mercedes-Benz Arocs 8x8 for a German client. The family firm from Jičín specializes in all-wheel-drive vans and trucks, focusing on expedition vehicles. The clients, Volkmar and Anja Balensiefer, traveled 700 km from Cologne to order the vehicle in the Czech Republic. Their MAN 27.314 6x6, formerly owned by the Danish army, underwent full restoration and is equipped with a living module, solar panels, Starlink satellite communication, and other amenities.
