According to a video on the YouTube channel '노마드션 No mad Shaun', entering Albania requires only a vehicle registration certificate and a passport. The country uses its own currency, the lek, and locals allow free camping near the coast, sometimes with electricity. However, the traveler noted traffic congestion, disorderly parking, corruption, and difficulties in finding safe overnight spots in the wild.
The SH21 road from Shkodër to Theth has been fully paved since 2021, but remains narrow and winding. Albania has introduced new toll sections with fees based on vehicle height and axle count, so a motorhome may pay more than a car. A budget of €50 per day for two people is possible but not guaranteed. Travelers are advised to check insurance coverage (code AL on the green card) and carry cash in lek.
