The government publishes a monthly maximum price for 95 self-service gasoline using a formula based on Platts Mediterranean, USD/ILS exchange rate, taxes and a fixed marketing margin. A separate surcharge applies for full service, and Eilat has a VAT-exempt price.

Taxes and levies

Excise, VAT 18%, fixed marketing margin, port/logistics. The official February 2026 build-up shows CIF W Med `1.05`, basket/margin `0.64`, excise `3.60`, with VAT embedded in the final maximum price.
