The Almaty Tourism Department does not maintain separate statistics on tourists arriving in motorhomes, as reported in response to a request from the publication Vlast. The issue of motorhome infrastructure gained relevance after the Kazakhstan International Tourism and Travel Exhibition KITF 2026, held in Almaty from April 22 to 24, where motorhomes were presented as part of the exhibition for the first time. The akimat stated that tourism area development proceeds within approved projects, including documentation for the Alma-Arasan area with parking spaces, but there is no separate strategy for motorhome tourism. Vehicle entry restrictions remain in mountain zones such as Shymbulak, making organized parking and campsites a key issue for motorhome tourism development.
