An absorption fridge is a silent refrigerator that uses heat (from LPG gas, 230V mains, or 12V DC) to drive a cooling cycle with no moving parts. The three-power capability makes it standard in European motorhomes.
Absorption fridges must be kept reasonably level (within ±6°) to function correctly — hence the need for levelling ramps. They cool slowly and are less efficient than compressor fridges but can run indefinitely on LPG gas when off-grid.
