Rear garage

The rear garage is the large rear storage bay of a motorhome, typically 100–150 cm tall and accessible from both sides via wide doors. It carries scooters, bicycles, an inflatable dinghy, a barbecue, fishing or ski gear, and outdoor furniture.

Typical garage payload is 250–400 kg (listed separately from overall payload on the data plate). It is most often sized for one ≤125 cc scooter or 2–4 bikes. On premium motorhomes the garage doubles as a double-floor + boot space, with a shelf to carry a scooter below and furniture above. Tie-down rings should be rated 200–500 daN. Not the same as overcab storage above the driver's seat.
