Blown-air heating

Gas & Heating Europe

Blown-air heating is the motorhome and caravan heating system in which a gas or diesel burner heats air and a fan blows it through ducts to floor and wall vents around the living area. The dominant scheme in Europe. Unlike radiator-based heating, it warms a cabin in 10–20 minutes.

Leading vendors: Truma Combi (gas + boiler, 6/4/2 kW), Truma VarioHeat (air only), Webasto Air Top (diesel), Eberspächer Airtronic (diesel). Diesel units are independent of gas bottles but louder and prone to sooting. Gas units are quieter and simpler to service. A wall thermostat regulates temperature; a timer or app starts the heater 1–2 hours before wake-up.
