Gas regulator crash sensor

Gas & Heating Europe

Crash sensor, gas safety shut-off, SecuMotion, MonoControl CS, DuoControl CS, Truma crash sensor, gas on the move, driving with gas heating on

A crash sensor is a device built into the LPG regulator that automatically shuts off gas flow in the event of an accident or sudden impact. A crash sensor combined with EN 12979 certification is what legally allows you to drive in Europe with gas heating switched on.

The main certified models are Truma MonoControl CS (for a single cylinder) and Truma DuoControl CS (for a two-cylinder system with automatic changeover). Regulators without CS do not legally cover driving with the gas open. In Germany and Austria, TÜV/ÖAMTC checks the regulator's production date — it must be replaced every 10 years. In addition to the crash sensor, driving with gas requires thermal fuses on any gas piping section longer than 300 mm.
