ITV camper — Spanish camper inspection

Legal & Registration Spain

ITV camper, ITV motorhome, ITV reforma, Spanish camper inspection, Spanish camperization MOT, ITV España

ITV (Inspección Técnica de Vehículos) is the mandatory technical inspection in Spain. For motorhomes and converted vans, the ITV additionally checks the conversion: structure, wiring, gas, plumbing, seats, and seatbelt anchors. Without a current ITV the vehicle cannot be legally driven.

Frequency: every 2 years (vehicles 4–10 years old) and annually (10+ years). After a conversion an "ITV de reforma" is required to legalise the change (using the Ministerio de Industria reform manual). Without prior homologation the report flags the vehicle as "no conforme". Prices: standard ITV €35–60; ITV de reforma €80–180.
