Homologación de camper — Spanish conversion approval

Legal & Registration Spain

Homologación camper, camper homologation Spain, camper legalization Spain, vivienda en vehículo, Spanish conversion approval

Homologación de camper is the legalisation process for a converted van in Spain. It is required for the registration to show "vivienda" (habitable) status and for the vehicle to be classified as a motorhome. It needs an engineer's technical project, a report from an accredited laboratory, and an ITV de reforma.

Steps: technical project (€200–600) + accredited laboratory report (€200–500, ENAC accredited) + ITV de reforma with the Ministry of Industry reform manual (€80–180). Total: €500–1,500. Typical checks: homologated seat anchors, fixed bed, table, storage, and certified electrics/gas. The result is recorded on the ficha técnica and allows use as a "vivienda".
