Hardstanding Pitch

Sites & Services United Kingdom

All-weather pitch, gravel pitch, paved pitch, concrete stand, hard pitch

A hardstanding pitch is a campsite pitch with a hard surface (concrete, asphalt, gravel, or resin-bound), rather than grass, allowing use in wet weather without the motorhome becoming stuck in soft ground.

Hardstanding pitches are essential in rainy climates and are standard on UK Certificated Locations (CLs) and most German Stellplätze. Grass pitches are softer and quieter but can become unusable after heavy rain.
