A new temporary motorhome insurance product has launched in the UK, offering flexible cover for drivers borrowing a motorhome or campervan for short periods. Insurance provider GoShorty has expanded its range of temporary vehicle insurance products with the introduction of motorhome cover available from one to 28 days. The policy is designed to allow borrowers to take out their own standalone insurance, with claims handled separately from the owner's policy to protect their No Claims Discount. The move comes as interest in staycations, road trips and peer-to-peer vehicle sharing continues to grow.

A journalist cycled 60 miles on an e-bike from Oxford to Walton-on-Thames, following the path of early campers of the Camping and Caravanning Club (CCC), which celebrates its 125th anniversary. West Norfolk Council has approved the sale of two caravan sites, Vegas and South Shore in Hunstanton. Operator 4 Shores is expected to acquire the assets. The sale is justified by higher returns compared to retaining the sites. Timelines for completion are not yet set.

MSR has launched the Switch, a hybrid personal cooking system that combines an integrated burner with fold-out pot supports for use with standard cookware. In testing, it boiled 500ml of water in 3 minutes 11 seconds, slower than the Jetboil Flash (2:14) but faster than many screw-in stoves. The system weighs 392g without fuel and costs £140 in the UK.
