A campervan overturned on the coastal highway in Slovenia between the Logatec and Unec interchanges, completely blocking traffic. A three-kilometer queue formed, travel time increased by more than ten minutes.
On the morning of June 26, a motorhome overturned on the Primorska highway near Lom. Some sources report a collision with a bus. Traffic towards Koper was fully closed; one lane is now open, with a detour via the old road.
Slovenia has seen an increase in brown bear sightings near residential areas, including suburbs of Ljubljana. Travelers in motorhomes and caravans are advised to take precautions: do not leave food outside and keep dogs on a leash. Tow truck scams after breakdowns are also common, with unrequested companies charging inflated prices. Fines for missing vignettes or speeding are collected on the spot, and authorities may confiscate documents and vehicles.
In Slovenia, a traveler discovered 23 ticks and a nest with 30 eggs in the cab of his motorhome. He initially mistook the insects for dirt after a two-week road trip. Experts recommend removing ticks mechanically using gloves and sticky tape, and washing clothes at high temperatures.
A major fire broke out overnight Wednesday to Thursday on Delavska Street in Šenčur. Two residential houses and several motorhomes were engulfed in flames. A total of 110 professional and volunteer firefighters from GARS Kranj and surrounding units responded. No injuries or evacuations were reported; the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Slovenian bike retailer Freestyle reports growing demand for Dahon folding e-bikes among motorhome owners. These bikes require no roof racks and fit into storage compartments. The retailer also offers Giant and Liv e-bikes with a subsidy of up to €500 under the Borzen program (up to 25% of retail price, max €500, for bikes priced up to €2,500).
