Motorhome owners have occupied the banks of the Olt River in the Sibiu area, installing toilets and setting up improvised camps. Anglers complain that public fishing areas have become inaccessible, while the fishing association states it lacks authority to regulate camping. During the fishing ban from April 9 to June 7, violators face fines up to 10,000 lei.

Dozens of tourists, including foreigners, celebrated Orthodox Easter at a campsite near the Muddy Volcanoes in Romania. Some participants marked the holiday in a caravan for the first time, maintaining traditions like egg dyeing. German tourists noted they chose Romania for camping based on recommendations about nature and hospitality.

During Easter holidays, campgrounds on the Romanian coast are packed with tourists in motorhomes and caravans. A family pays around 100 lei per day for a spot with shower, playground, and electricity. According to ClubRv association, one campground hosted about 29 caravans and 80 people, including visitors from abroad. Tourists highlight cost savings compared to hotels and the flexibility of a free schedule.

Spanish publication CarWow has unveiled a camper concept based on the Dacia Jogger. The modular design includes a kitchen, a fold-out table, a 20-liter water tank, and a double bed. Conversion cost is estimated at €27,000–30,000.

Romania lags significantly behind the EU average for overnight stays in campsites and motorhomes. In 2025, the country recorded only 312,239 overnight stays, accounting for 1.05% of total tourist accommodation nights, while the EU average exceeds 13%. Interest among Romanians in this type of holiday has not increased over the past decade.
