Man threatens group of young people with gun in Pesaro camper van incident

A 65-year-old resident of Pesaro was detained by police after pointing a gun at a group of young people inside a camper van. The incident occurred on the night between Saturday and Sunday in the Borgo Santa Maria district. Growth of Open-Air Tourism in Italy: Families, Comfort, and International Travelers

According to the Camping Report 2026 (CaRe) by Campeggi.com, searches for campsites and tourist villages in Italy increased by 34% compared to 2025. Family trips dominate (77% of searches), with 65% of travelers preferring bungalows and mobile homes. International demand rose from 22% to 48%, led by Germany (21%), Switzerland (8%), and Austria (6%). Among Italians, Liguria is the top destination (16%), while Sardinia leads for foreigners.

Italian court cancels fines for Romani family parking camper van near basilica

A magistrate in Ravenna annulled two fines totaling about €300 issued to a Romani woman for parking her caravan at Piazza Ravaioli in Classe. The judge ruled that parking a camper is not camping if the vehicle does not rest on the ground, produce waste, or exceed its footprint.

Alghero fines motorhome owner for turning parking into camping

Local police in Alghero fined a motorhome owner at least €500 for turning a parking spot into unauthorized camping. The violation occurred near Don Bosco church: the owner had set up an awning, placed tables and chairs, and lowered the stabilizers. Under Article 185 of the Highway Code, a motorhome is considered parked only if it rests on its wheels, does not occupy more space than the vehicle itself, and discharges nothing. Otherwise, it is classified as camping, which is strictly prohibited in urban areas and protected zones.
