Sunlight launches new 4x4 camper range Ibex

German manufacturer Sunlight has unveiled the Ibex family of 4x4 campers, comprising the 604D and 603D models based on the Volkswagen Crafter and Ford Transit, respectively. The 604D, featuring a 163 hp engine, automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive, will enter series production in August. The 603D, successor to the special CLIFF 4x4 Greentrek model, is powered by a 165 hp engine and comes with standard off-road equipment, including all-terrain tires and a Ford Raptor-inspired grille. Both models offer increased interior height and sleeping accommodations, with optional equipment for enhanced off-road capability.

Ahorn Camp brings back compact T 590 for model year 2027

At the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf (Aug 28–Sep 6), Ahorn Camp will show the updated T 590, a 5.99 m partially integrated motorhome based on the new Renault Master. Base price is €59,900. Features include an L-shaped seating group, French double bed, separate shower cubicle, Thetford absorption fridge (89 l), and a new CBE control panel. Options include an electrically operated drop-down bed for €1,790 and Isofix child seat anchors for €390.

Heilbronn region: statistics on motorhome and caravan rentals

According to data from the PaulCamper platform, more than 11,300 recreational vehicles have been booked in the Heilbronn region since May 2015. The most popular types were motorhomes (42%), camper vans (29%), and caravans (28%). The average trip lasted 11.1 nights, with a daily cost of 57 euros. Bookings were typically made 82 days in advance, and about 30% of the vehicles were pet-friendly.

Volkswagen offers Boa-Noite package for ID. Buzz

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has introduced the Boa-Noite package for the electric ID. Buzz van, turning it into a motorhome for two people. The package includes a bed frame, a folding mattress measuring 2.0 x 1.2 m, blackout curtains, a table, chairs, and ventilation grilles. A new Boa-Noite mode in the software provides climate control for up to 48 hours or until the battery reaches 20% charge. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function allows powering appliances up to 2000 watts. The package is available for passenger versions of the ID. Buzz from €2,153. As an electric vehicle, the ID. Buzz is exempt from the ISV tax.
