Motorhome priced like Honda Vision draws attention, but there's a trade-off

Interest in motorhomes is growing in Vietnam, but the market remains small due to high costs. New technical standards regulating the conversion of vans into mobile homes came into effect in 2024. According to the CEO of Sunlimo, demand is limited due to high prices relative to local incomes, although the company's products are exported at prices two to three times higher.

The Multi-Purpose Habitation (MPH) module, developed by Thales Alenia Space, will be the first mobile habitation complex on the Moon. It is a 6-meter-long pressurized cylindrical compartment on wheels, capable of autonomous movement across the lunar surface. Its launch is planned for 2033 under the Artemis program, with a designed operational lifespan of 10 years.

The foldable camper module concept Wingcube was presented at the CMT 2026 exhibition in Germany. In its closed state, it measures 2.5 m long, 1.2 m wide, and 2.1 m high, weighing about 500 kg. When expanded, the side walls slide out, increasing the living space to accommodate up to four people. The product's commercialization is planned for the end of 2027 with an estimated price of 20,000 euros.

The Cherokee Wolf Pup 14RKLP 2026 model has been introduced. It is a low-cost travel trailer priced at around 340 million dong, featuring sleeping space for four people, a kitchen, a bathroom, and basic amenities.

A family from Hanoi has been traveling across Vietnam for several years with a motorhome based on a pickup truck. They switched from tents to a motorhome in 2025 when such models became available in the country starting at 300 million dong. They believe this format could become a new tourism trend for families from 2026.
