Launch of Sfinx Camper & Conversion motorhome production project

Two entrepreneurs from Craiova have abandoned plans to create a caravan and camping park. The project was halted by the local municipality due to a temporary building ban on the 1000 sq m plot, which would have required the development of a separate urban zoning plan.

The Dacia Bigster SUV serves as the base for a compact camper project using modular solutions from Australian specialist ARB. The conversion includes a heavy-duty drawer system, a slide-out kitchen module, and a rigid roof-top tent, adding approximately 187 kg. The estimated cost for the package is 6400–7000 euros, keeping the total price of a fully equipped vehicle under 40,000 euros.

Publisher Silver Lining Interactive and developer Square Glade Games announced the release date for Outbound. The open-world exploration game, where players live in and customize a van, will launch on April 23 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PS5. A playable demo is now available for Switch and Switch 2.

The Romanian company Joy2Wander has built a fleet of 10 motorhomes, a service hub, and runs festivals for its community over ten years. The founders adapt Western trends to the local market, focusing on transparency and customer technical support. Their strategy includes selling part of the motorhome fleet at the end of the season to improve cash flow.

A concept for a compact motorhome based on the Dacia Bigster SUV has been presented. The kit, consisting of an ARB drawer system, slide-out kitchen, and roof-top tent, adds approximately 187 kg and costs 6,400–7,000 euros. With the base vehicle starting at around 26,000 euros, the total project budget is 33,000–35,000 euros, making it significantly cheaper than classic campers.

The ARB firm has introduced an Overland package to adapt the Dacia Bigster crossover for active outdoor use. The kit features a slide-out kitchen with a stove and sink, plus a roof-top tent with a mattress and lighting. Individual components start at 6,400 euros.
