Parking chaos in Rio Martino: lot besieged by motorhomes despite ban

On Sunday, a camper van collided head-on with a car in a tunnel on the SS28 near Cesio, then a second vehicle hit the camper from behind. The driver of the camper died; his wife and the car driver were injured. Traffic was diverted via Colle di San Bartolomeo.

On 24 April in Perugia, a camper with Austrian tourists got stuck on Via Alessi, blocking traffic. The driver ignored signs prohibiting campers from entering the historic center and drove into a narrow street with construction works. Firefighters and local police intervened to free the road. A similar incident occurred a few weeks earlier.

The historic center of Lecce still faces unauthorized van access for loading/unloading outside permitted hours. At the Traffic Commission meeting, President Luigi Quarta Colosso reported ongoing violations on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Piazzetta Santa Chiara, and Piazzetta Castromediano. Mobility councillor Giancarlo Capoccia highlighted technical limits of cameras that cannot distinguish cars from vans, and staff shortages. A digital ZTL access system via app was proposed to simplify requests.

CI (Trigano group) updated the Horon series, introducing the semi-integral motorhome Horon 65 XT, 745 cm long, with five travel-approved seats and five berths. Based on a Ford Transit with a 130 hp engine (optionally 165 hp via the Horon pack), the model features a redesigned interior inspired by the Fit series, including a five-seat lounge, a galley, a separate bathroom, and an electric rear bed. Optional packs include Horon (performance and comfort) and Selekt (automatic transmission).

The municipality of Fossacesia has completed a 17‑month procedure to reopen a motorhome area on the Lungomare Sud promenade. The site was closed due to flood risk. Authorities are preparing a tender for management and planning new parking spots.

The tender for the management of Roccaverano camping for 2026–2033 has been concluded. Informalmente ASD, the previous operator, has been awarded the contract. The 2026 season will start on April 25 with weekly shifts and age-differentiated programs. The campsite is dedicated to youth tourism and outdoor activities.
