The historic center of Lecce still faces unauthorized van access for loading/unloading outside permitted hours. At the Traffic Commission meeting, President Luigi Quarta Colosso reported ongoing violations on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Piazzetta Santa Chiara, and Piazzetta Castromediano. Mobility councillor Giancarlo Capoccia highlighted technical limits of cameras that cannot distinguish cars from vans, and staff shortages. A digital ZTL access system via app was proposed to simplify requests.

The ban for Euro 5 diesel vehicles has been postponed to October 2026 in most of these regions, with specific restrictions applying during higher pollution alerts.
