Wallydocking
Wallydocking, Walmart overnight, Walmart camping, parking lot camping, Walmart RV stay
Wallydocking is the practice of spending a single night in a Walmart parking lot with the store manager's permission. Free and convenient for long US transit drives, though many specific stores ban it due to local ordinances or trash issues. Always ask the manager and check the entrance signs.
Etiquette: one night, no camp setup (no chairs, awning, or slide-out unless you're leaving in minutes), and pick up something in the store before you go. Similar programs exist at Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, Cracker Barrel, Camping World, and Costco (usually unofficial). The Allstays Camp & RV app marks Walmarts as "overnight OK / not allowed" with current intel. Not suitable for long stays — this is transit camping, not camping.
