The Truma Boiler is a storage water heater for motorhomes and caravans that heats water by gas, 230V electricity, or in combined gas/electric versions.
Typical models have an approximately 10-litre tank for shower, washbasin and kitchen use. It is a separate water heater, not the same as Truma VarioHeat, which is an air heater rather than a boiler.
FAQ
Why is my Truma Boiler not producing hot water?
Check in order: 1) Gas supply — is the cylinder empty or valve closed? 2) On older gas models, the pilot light may need manual re-lighting (follow the ignition sequence). 3) Thermocouple failure — the most common fault after 5+ years; a failed thermocouple cuts gas to the pilot. 4) On electric models (EB): is shore power connected and the heater switch turned on? 5) Has Frost Control mode overridden the temperature setting?
How long does a Truma Boiler take to heat water?
Gas-only model: approximately 20–30 minutes to heat 10 L from cold to shower temperature (~40°C). Electric only (950 W element): 45–60 minutes. Combined Gas + Electric (EB model running both simultaneously): about 15–20 minutes. Running gas while connected to shore power is the fastest and most economical option.
