Furgonetero — Spanish camper-van traveller

A furgonetero/a is a Spanish camper-van traveller or resident. Very active subculture with meetups (Furgolandia, Furgo Fest), forums (furgoVW.org), magazines (Furgoneteo), and a strong social-media presence. Counterpart to the Spanish-American rodantero and the Brazilian motorhomeiro.

The term is strongly associated with compact vans — VW T4/T5/T6/T7, Renault Trafic, Citroën Jumpy, Opel Vivaro, Mercedes Vito — as opposed to large factory motorhomes (autocaravanista). The Spanish furgonetero culture has its own events: Furgolandia (Valencia), Furgo Fest, and regional meetups organised through the furgoVW.org forum and social media.
