Awning skirt

Layout & Interior United Kingdom Europe

Awning skirt, wind skirt, draught skirt, side panel, front panel, awning side wall, motorhome awning skirt

An awning skirt is a removable fabric or vinyl panel that hangs from a wind-out or fixed awning and shields the space from wind, rain, and sun. It turns an open awning into a sheltered semi-enclosed "beach room". In the UK it is often called a side panel or wind-out wall.

Variants: front panel (a wall with a zipped door and window), side panels, and draught skirt (a thin skirt closing the gap between the awning and the ground). Side panels hook into a Kederschiene on one side and peg out on the other. Popular brands: Kampa, Vango, Outwell, Fiamma. Downside: with wind over 40 km/h, pack the skirt away — it sails the awning and can flip it. Not the same as a full awning (a fully separate annexe tent).
