Camping-Car Park expands network in Vendée

Camping-Car Park, based in Pornic, has opened two new motorhome and camper van stopover areas in the Vendée department: one in Aubigny-les-Clouzeaux with 16 pitches and another in Barbâtre on Noirmoutier Island with 30 pitches. The sites offer water, electricity, Wi-Fi, waste water disposal and refuse collection. The network, which now includes 18 sites in the region, continues to grow.

Mayor of Châtellerault seeks eviction of 40 illegally parked caravans

Since September 4, about 40 caravans have been illegally occupying a field near the Bergerie housing estate in Châtellerault. The landowner filed a complaint with police. Mayor Anne-Florence Bourat denied that any authorization was given and said the prefecture of Vienne has initiated an eviction procedure. The travelers, who came from Chinon and Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, plan to stay until September 20.

New motorhome area opens in Ambon directly on Tréhervé beach

A new motorhome area with 6 pitches has opened in Ambon, Morbihan, directly adjacent to Tréhervé beach, between the Gulf of Morbihan and the Vilaine estuary. Located at 12 Route de la Baie, the area offers electricity, drinking water, Wi-Fi, waste water disposal, waste collection, and a security system. The south-facing beach in Kervoyal Bay is unsupervised and un-equipped, with public toilets nearby. Ambon has two other beaches within minutes, and the Romanesque church of Sainte-Julitte has yielded remains of a 3rd-century Roman temple and a 6th-century paleochristian sanctuary.

French woman travels France in motorhome at 103 after doctors gave her days to live

In 2017, Dominique Cavanna was hospitalized in Seine-Saint-Denis with a diagnosis of "giving-up syndrome." Doctors gave her only days to live. Her granddaughter Fiona Lauriol took her out of the hospital and embarked on a motorhome journey. From 2019 to 2020, they traveled through Spain, Portugal, and Andorra. Cavanna died in 2020 at age 103, smiling in her sleep. The story is recounted in Lauriol's book "101 Years Old, Grandma Hits the Road."
