Defective absorption refrigerators in RVs can cause fires due to ammonia leaks. The CPSC recalled Norcold models in 2001 and Dometic units from 1997–2006; similar defects were found in Norcold models from 2010–2011.

In Bandera and Bexar counties, Texas, evacuations are underway due to rising waters in the Medina River and Cibolo Creek. Bandera County Judge Evans signed an order for RV parks along the Medina River, with a forecasted rise of nearly 14 feet.

A new camping trend from the US is gaining popularity: compact travel trailers that offer RV-like comfort in a towable size. The ROG 12RK-FB by Encore RV features a pop-up bathroom, kitchen, queen bed, and heating, weighing about 1,270 kg and measuring 4.5 meters.

Boundless Recreation, a new company founded by RV industry veterans, has announced its launch. The initial lineup will focus on premium fifth-wheel trailers. The company says it will prioritize quality over production volume and will work with a select group of dealers.

GEN-Y Hitch announced the launch of the VENTURE Tire Carrier, developed with Grand Design Recreational Vehicles. The carrier features a hydraulic lift system that allows one person to raise and lower tires up to 300 pounds. Integrated MOLLE panels hold up to 45 pounds of gear. The mount fits Grand Design Lineage Series F Units and tires up to 43 inches.

Liquified RV, the Elkhart-based maker of RV tank treatments and cleaning products, hosted a charity car wash on July 10, drawing approximately 100 customers and industry professionals. All donations, including an additional $500 from the company, went to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elkhart County. The event also marked the soft debut of a new wash concentrate in the Liquishine line, available for purchase in October. The afternoon concluded with the live-streamed announcement of the winner of a two-month RV giveaway: Sam S. of Nevada won a 2026 Alliance Delta Solo ML166 travel trailer with an MSRP over $35,000.
