Blackjack Beach RV & Water Resort Clears Approval in Iowa

The Washington County (Iowa) Board of Supervisors approved a developmental review, inspection and code enforcement agreement between the City of Riverside and Washington County for the Blackjack Beach RV & Water Resort project. The project will include more than 150 RV parking spots and a water park of over 70,000 square feet with water slides, a lazy river and pools. Construction requires building inspection services before annexation, which is expected to take about six months.

New booking system turns Lynchburg’s honor-system RV campground into an overnight tourism play

The RV campground in Wiseman Park, Lynchburg, Tennessee, previously operating on an honor system, now has an online booking system and marketing support. The partnership between Moore County and the South Central Tennessee Tourism Association aims to increase overnight stays. Booking one of 18 sites costs up to $40 per night, with $30 going to the county and $10 to a marketing fund. Moore County ranks last in the region for lodging options, despite over 300,000 annual visitors to Lynchburg.

Campers begin to arrive for Window World 450 at North Wilkesboro Speedway

Campers started arriving Wednesday at North Wilkesboro Speedway ahead of the NASCAR Cup Series Window World 450 scheduled for July 19. Speedway Motorsports officials said camping is sold out, but limited ticket and parking options remain available online. Fans are traveling from 49 states, Washington, D.C., and eight foreign countries, including Luxembourg and Australia.
