All NewsThe county administrative board has revoked the permit for 23 motorhome pitches in Björkenäs, near Pukavik. The municipality's business committee had earlier approved the project, but the authority found it to conflict with shoreline protection regulations.
The Swedish company Västra Götalands Husvagnsskrot, which specialized in dismantling old caravans, was declared bankrupt on August 24 by the district court in Gothenburg. The cause was a dispute with Skrotfrag AB, to which a debt was not paid. A warehouse of almost 1,000 square meters is full of spare parts that will be sold off. The price difference compared to new parts can reach 500 euros; for example, a Dometic Seitz S4 window costs about 778 euros, while a used one could be bought for under 300 euros.
Västra Götalands Husvagnsskrot, a company specializing in dismantling caravans, has been declared bankrupt by the Gothenburg court. The trustee, Susanne Wiklund, announced a sale of a huge inventory of spare parts and numerous old caravans. The bankruptcy follows a debt dispute with recycling firm Skrotfrag AB, which filed the petition in early summer. Caravan owners can expect to buy spare parts at reduced prices soon.
From September 9 to 13, the Elmia Husvagn Husbil trade fair will take place in Jönköping, Sweden, as the largest fair for mobile living in Northern Europe. This year, more brands will be represented than before, including returning and new exhibitors, showcasing 2027 model year campers and accessories. New features include a family stage with a performance by Nassim Al Fakir on September 13, and a new destination area with travel inspiration from creators. Organizers note positive development in the Swedish market, especially for motorhomes.
A resident of the Swedish municipality of Sotenäs has called on authorities to address the situation with free motorhome parking, which has become 'almost grotesque' during the summer. In Väjern, the gravel area by the harbor is effectively used as a parking spot for about twenty caravans, with only one toilet and one shower available. The old gravel road at Tumlaren is also used for camping, with solar panels and furniture set up, blocking views of the archipelago. The author questions why the municipality, which together with the police has put up signs against wild camping, is not acting.
KABE has unveiled the Crown i780 LGB for model year 2026. The integral motorhome measures 7.82 m in length, 2.33 m in width, and just over 3 m in height, with a permissible gross weight starting at 4,500 kg. The LGB layout features two single beds at the rear and a drop-down double bed above the lounge, providing four fixed sleeping places. It includes the Smart-D 2.0 system with CAN bus and Bluetooth, a 100 Ah lithium battery, a 30 A charger, a 280-liter fresh water tank, and a heated 150-liter waste water tank.
