Slovakia is experiencing a caravanning boom, driven by technology and a desire for autonomy. For beginners, the Spiš-Gemer-Malohont route offers developed infrastructure; for experienced travelers, Orava and Liptov provide mountain challenges; and for adventurers, the wild east from Bardejov to Michalovce offers pristine nature. Slovak law permits wild camping only above 1000 meters altitude and requires strict adherence to environmental rules.

Timon Bornhalm has built what is likely the world's smallest motorhome. The project is based on a microcar, classifying it as a self-propelled camper. Exact dimensions and technical specifications have not been disclosed, but the vehicle is aimed at minimalist living.
A fire broke out in a residential caravan on Tuesday morning in the village of Čiližská Radvaň. The flames completely engulfed the trailer and spread to a neighboring unoccupied house, but the person inside was unharmed. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, with the cause and damage still under investigation.
The European Union is changing rules to allow Category B license holders to drive heavier vehicles. The new directive permits driving alternatively powered vehicles up to 4.25 tonnes instead of 3.5 tonnes and provides for obtaining additional authorization to drive heavy motorhomes after specific training. EU member states have four years to transpose these rules into national law.
Nissan has introduced two caravans based on van platforms. One is built on the diesel NV300, while the second model uses the electric e-NV200.
