All NewsSlovak singer Marika Gombitová, who uses a wheelchair, went on holiday in a specially adapted motorhome. She shared photos of the interior, which includes a spacious maneuvering area, an accessible kitchen, and ample storage. This vehicle allows her to travel without having to check hotel accessibility.
In the Slovak village of Nagyfödémes, 12 caravan parking spots were created near the beach. The project was supported by the Trnava Region and cost about 13,000 euros.
A journalist from Polish magazine Classicauto found an unusual camper in Slovakia, believed to be homemade. The vehicle, featuring a Hymer-style body but built on an Avia truck chassis, was discovered near Žilina. Czech Avia enthusiasts claim it is a custom build, not a factory model. Inside, the steering wheel and gear lever are typical of Avia, with the brand logo visible, yet the cab shape and dashboard do not match any known Avia model, leaving its origin unclear.
Slovak campsites welcomed about 250,000 visitors last year, up 7% from 2024. There are over 100 campsites and caravan parks in the country, many recently modernized. Slovak firm Urbanoid has unveiled the Booba One, a compact caravan that can be stored vertically and set up in two minutes. Weighing just 280 kg, it can be towed by a small car. The price is 15,900 euros.
Actress and singer Dorota Nvotová rented a Defender and set off on a two-week solo caravan trip without a fixed route. She previously bought her own caravan and parked it at the Leharo campsite near the Tatras, calling it her 'hotel with the best view of the Tatras'. Other Slovak celebrities, including Gombitová, Tormová, and Koščová, also choose caravan holidays over hotels.
