Makla Bar Beach in Qurayyat: a quiet camping destination

Makla Bar Beach (White Beach) in the Fans area of Qurayyat province (Muscat Governorate) is a popular destination for tourists and camping enthusiasts. It is located 135 km from Amrat province and 50 km from Sur province. According to local resident Mohammed bin Ali al-Ghadani, the beach served as a shelter for fishing boats and cargo ships during storms in the Gulf of Oman. The beach is known for its coral reefs, turtles that come ashore at night to lay eggs, and congregations of migratory seabirds.
