On the M5 motorway near Kecskemét, a mini motorhome crashed into the guardrail twice and overturned. The woman inside, who was alone, was taken to hospital, and firefighters disconnected the vehicle's battery. The section towards Budapest was fully closed.
At the Hungaroring circuit in Mogyoród, Formula 1 teams have once again set up their luxurious mobile homes in the paddock. This is an annual practice, with teams bringing specially equipped motorhomes for rest and work during the race weekend.
A motorhome collided with a guardrail on Route 62 at kilometer 16 near Perkáta. Two people were in the vehicle. Professional firefighters from Dunaújváros and other authorities arrived at the scene, where the motorhome is blocking one lane.
At the Hungaroring paddock, the venue for the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, the luxurious motorhomes of Formula 1 teams are on display. The newest, belonging to Audi, features three floors, over 600 square meters, and can be assembled in under 48 hours. It is transported by 30 trucks carrying 40 containers with a total weight of 70 tons. Audi's motorhome includes an integrated crane, speeding up assembly. The logistics of moving these structures between European races require rapid turnaround: disassembly begins on Sunday after the race, and assembly at the next venue is completed by Thursday.
A multi-vehicle crash occurred at the 38 km mark of Route 82 between Veszprémvarsány and Bakonyszentkirály, involving three cars and a caravan towed by a passenger car. Preliminary reports indicate an Audi driver attempted to overtake, first sideswiping a caravan towed by a German-registered Ford, then colliding head-on with an Austrian-registered Hyundai and hitting a Citroën. Rescue crews used hydraulic cutters to free one victim; a medical helicopter landed at the scene. Two people sustained serious injuries, four sustained minor injuries, including two children. The road section was fully closed, with traffic diverted to side roads.
