Croatia introduces €130 fine for camper vans overnighting outside campsites

The municipality of Raša (Croatia) at its 11th session approved measures against illegal camper van parking during the tourist season. Municipal wardens or tourist inspectors can issue an on-the-spot fine of €130 for overnight stays outside official campsites, including beaches and parking lots. Fines revenue goes to the municipal budget. Individuals caught camping in unauthorized areas face fines from €190 to €1,320.

Camping Almissa in Omiš, Croatia, is undergoing a €12 million investment cycle to be completed by 2027, with a €7 million phase already finished. Pine tree falls on camper, trapping occupants

Firefighters on the island of Cres responded to two separate incidents overnight. Around midnight, a fire alarm activated in a building, but no fire hazard was found. Ten minutes later, a call came from Camp Kovačine, where a fallen pine tree blocked the exit of a camper. Three firefighters used chainsaws to remove the tree and free the passage, allowing the occupants to safely exit and re-enter the vehicle.
