Police in Bruges and Scharbeutz are organising free technical inspections for motorhomes and caravans, including weighing, suspension checks, and consultations.

Free RV and caravan checks

Bruges police (Belgium) will hold a free check for motorhomes and caravans on 25 April 2026. Mobile scales and technical inspection of suspension, lights and brakes will be carried out without issuing fines.

In Germany, police in Scharbeutz (Ostholstein) are running a similar event on 19 April 2026. Besides weighing, owners will receive advice on driving licences, permissible load and gas cylinder safety.

Both campaigns are preventive and aim to improve road safety.
