How to read the plate
A Honduran plate has a vehicle-type letter, two letters and four digits: HAB0123. H is for cars, B for motorcycles. A blue band with the flag and HONDURAS runs along the top, CENTROAMÉRICA along the bottom; there is no region.
Region codes
Plates in this country do not show the region — you cannot tell it from the plate.
History
The Instituto de la Propiedad has issued the current plates since October 2018. Before that the format was class letter, two letters and digits (P AB 1234), with the slogan “Cuidemos los Bosques” and “Honduras, C.A.”, also without a region.
