Marion County commissioners unanimously denied a rezoning request for a 173-site RV park on 26 acres at 7400 S U.S. Highway 441 in Ocala on August 18. Concerns included the site's distance from municipal water and sewer lines (over two and four miles respectively, across CSX tracks), its location in the Primary Springs Protection Zone, and the lack of enforceable plans under straight zoning. The applicant, MBV Engineering, declined to withdraw the application despite staff suggesting a future PUD approach.
