Under the city's Oversized Vehicle Ordinance, parking RVs on city lots and public streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. is illegal. Since enforcement resumed in July 2025, SDPD has issued nearly 8,000 citations through August 2026 and made 888 successful referrals to safe parking. During one shift, officers issued 29 citations and made five referrals, but only two RVs arrived at H-Barracks.

A 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro owner reported that a tanker's rear axle struck the corner of his R-Pod 202 camper, shifting it about 3 feet to the truck's left while it remained hitched. The incident occurred about 20 miles from home after a trip to Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. The owner later said the camper was a total loss, while the truck received a clean bill of health from a frame shop.

As Isaias approaches the Gulf Coast, some RV owners are moving their campers farther inland rather than waiting out the storm near the beach. Bay Breeze on the Bay RV Park in Fort Morgan, Alabama, is not allowing guests to stay past Friday night; campers can remain at the park, but owners are responsible for them. Kim Anderson, who has been staying at the park for about four years, planned to leave Thursday and return her RV to the park Monday, depending on the storm’s impact on the Gulf Coast.

The Out of Spec Reviews YouTube channel has purchased a Pebble Flow Founders Edition, an electric caravan. The video showcases its features, including remote control and automatic hitching. A Tesla Cybertruck was chosen as the tow vehicle.

On Thursday, Oct. 1, Nebraska’s new RV franchise law took effect. Earlier this year, the Nebraska Legislature passed the law by a 48–1 vote. The law establishes a framework for manufacturer-dealer relationships in Nebraska’s RV industry, covering written agreements, termination and repurchase, transfers and succession, warranty responsibilities, pre-delivery inspections, indemnification, mediation and penalties. It also increases the maximum allowable length of fifth-wheel trailers to 46 feet, removes van conversions from the definition of an RV, and updates the reference to the 2025 ANSI A119.5 Park Model RV Standard.

A 1951 Lighthouse Duplex two-storey travel trailer has been restored in the US. The model, produced by Chicago-based Lighthouse Trailers Co., was the first trailer with two full storeys. Of about eight surviving examples, two were restored by Texas specialist Ethan Langley, who spent seven years on his personal project. The 8.5-metre trailer weighs about 3,084 kg and can accommodate four to six people; it features modern heating and air conditioning, 50-amp electrical hookup and a hidden staircase to the second floor. The price has not been disclosed, and the owner does not plan to sell it.

In Hart County, Kentucky, fire crews from Horse Cave, Cave City and Munfordville responded to a camper fire that reached the woodline on Riordan Road off KY-218. As of 3 p.m., the fire was still active. A prescribed burn by the Office of Kentucky Nature Reserves is also underway on Rush Island Bend Road.
