Shares of New Gonow RV (00805) rose nearly 8% in morning trading in Hong Kong, hitting a record high of HK$12. As of press time, the stock was up 6.10% at HK$11.82, with turnover of HK$129 million. On September 18, the State Council General Office forwarded the "Several Measures on Promoting Motorhome Consumption" issued by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and nine other departments. The measures address seven areas: improving motorhome supply quality, optimizing registration and scrapping management, ensuring road access and parking, strengthening campground construction, improving rental services, and increasing financial support. New Gonow RV owns the mid-range brand SNOWY RIVER, the high-end brand REGENT, and the light off-road brand NEWGEN. According to 2023 data, its market share in Australia and New Zealand reached 7.8%, ranking second.

The Dongfeng Xinghai V9 is the only plug-in hybrid MPV with a factory-integrated pop-top roof in the 200,000–300,000 yuan price range. The 2026 pop-top camper version is offered in four- and seven-seat layouts at a guide price from 278,800 yuan, or from 243,800 yuan after market discounts. It has a 200 km electric range, 1,300 km combined range and 6 kW external discharge. The roof bed measures 0.95 × 1.9 m and is limited to adults under 1.8 m tall; the lower bed is formed by folding the third row.

A review of four routes for three-day motorhome trips in summer has been published. The routes include Caonaqiu in Gansu Province (daytime temperature around 20°C, from 1200 yuan per person), the 168 Golden Coastline in Cangnan, Zhejiang (about 30°C in the afternoon, 1200–1500 yuan per person), the Longhu Mountain Danxia route (about 2000 yuan per motorhome), and the Miyun–Huairou–Yanqing loop near Beijing (1200 yuan per person, with motorhome areas maintained at 22°C). Booking 1–2 weeks in advance is recommended for popular campsites. Prices may vary by 10–20% during peak season.

A September 2026 comparison reviewed three campsites in Dalian for family camping. Huamuli campsite (92 yuan per person) offers play facilities for children aged 3–10, the Cangluwan study camp on a 300,000 sq m rice field hosts up to 2,000 people daily and targets ages 5–15, and Yintai RV campsite (recommended by Dalian Culture and Tourism Bureau) rents for about 200–300 yuan per vehicle per night and suits first-time motorhome users. For families in Shenyang, combining the zoo (tickets from 97 yuan) with camping near Qipan Mountain is suggested.

On September 25, shares of New Gonow (00805.HK) closed up 22.64% at HK$11.13 on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, giving the company a market capitalisation of HK$10.685 billion. The stock has risen almost 1,072% year-to-date. The rally followed Chinese government measures to support motorhome consumption, including a seven-point plan, as well as order book growth and a proposed NZ$338 million acquisition of New Zealand's THL. However, net profit attributable to shareholders fell 78.47% to 6.609 million yuan in the first half of 2026, and the founder reduced his stake during the share price surge.

China's State Council, through ten government bodies, issued its first systemic measures to develop the motorhome and caravan market. In 2025, sales of motorised motorhomes exceeded 20,000 units for the first time, with camper van sales up 85.61% and new-energy motorhome sales up 229%. Mandatory scrappage is removed for light non-commercial motorhomes, while the service life for rental motorhomes is extended from 15 to 25 years and for caravans from 15 to 20 years.
