Australian company Headspace Campers has unveiled a Toyota HiAce LWB with 4WD, featuring 35-inch tires, differential locks, pop-up roof, slide-out kitchen, and an in-cabin shower. Ground clearance is raised to 300 mm, exceeding that of standard Land Cruisers. The vehicle retains a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel producing 174 hp and 450 Nm, and includes a 48-volt electrical system with a 200 Ah lithium battery, plus a 275-liter fuel tank. A long-wheelbase version is planned.

The 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine produces 174 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Payload ranges from 1,500 to 1,600 kg, with a maximum load of 1,700 kg. The company also announced a new model with a longer wheelbase.

Wollongong councillor: don't buy a caravan if you can't park it on your property

At a Wollongong City Council meeting on Monday night, councillors debated the issue of caravans, boats and trailers parked on streets. Councillor Kit Docker said buyers of such vehicles should have adequate off-street parking. Currently, there is no time limit for parking a caravan or boat on the street, but council rangers can fine owners of oversized vehicles and remove unregistered caravans after 28 days.
