Tunisia closes Jebel Zaghouan National Park to visitors and camping until October 31

The Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Zaghouan has banned visits and camping in Jebel Zaghouan National Park from May 1 to October 31, 2026. Only scientific visits authorized by the General Directorate of Forests and the Ecological Museum are allowed.

A couple from Saxony-Anhalt embarked on a journey through the Tunisian desert in a converted East German truck. The seven-ton vehicle from 1987 was transformed into a motorhome with a bunk bed and shower. The route includes a ferry crossing from Genoa to Tunis.
