An Austrian couple embarked on a multi-month journey through Mongolia in their camper van. Their previous trips had never exceeded four weeks. Concurrently, the Caravan Salon Austria exhibition will take place in Wels from October 19 to 23, featuring around 200 exhibitors.
Hartmann Spezialkarosserien converted a Mercedes Zetros 6x6 truck into a luxury motorhome for winter travel in Mongolia. The vehicle features six driven wheels, a 7.2-liter diesel engine producing 326 hp, and a 16-speed manual transmission. The living module includes a kitchen with dishwasher, marble bathroom with heated floor, and a bedroom. Fuel capacity is 500 liters, enabling long distances without refueling.
In June 2017, a group of 25 people on five SUVs embarked on a seven-day expedition across the Gobi Desert without using tourist camps. Participants, most of whom were camping for the first time, set up tents and prepared food on their own. Due to the full moon, the Milky Way was not visible, but the bright moon allowed for navigation.
